Owning a web domain does not directly affect your chances of successful trademark registration. Trademark registration is a separate process during which the intellectual property office determines whether your IP is strong enough to receive legal protection.

However, in the case of having to prove the acquired distinctiveness of your brand, ownership of the domain name may be helpful, as it is one of the vital parts of your brand identity, and can help your customers connect your goods or services with your brand.
